ALWAYS JOYFUL MOVEMENT

Pastoral Proposal
Always Joyful Movement!

Presentation

The Always Joyful Movement! is a pastoral proposal of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of Puerto Rico that arises from the analysis, study, and reflection of the Puerto Rican youth reality, of the pastoral reality of the works that we animate and direct in Puerto Rico, and of the profile of the generation of children, adolescents and young people that we accompany in the houses of Aguadilla, Orocovis and Santurce.
It is based on the document “So that they may have life and life in abundance,” offered by the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in response to the insistence of the Sisters within the General Chapter XXI, held in 2002, to receive guidance that would help lead the pastoral work facing a new century.

This training itinerary integrates the following dimensions and strategies:

  • Communicative dimension (Educommunication) – Works with interpersonal relationships, use of technology, and expressions.
  • Cultural dimension – Work on human maturity and identity, applying the pedagogy of reason according to the Preventive System of Saint John Bosco.
  • Dimension Jesus, model of person – It presents Jesus as an example of a fulfilled human being, according to the experiences of each age.
  • Evangelizing Dimension – Works on Christian maturity, from the experience and personal knowledge of Jesus and Catholic doctrine, applying the pedagogy of religion according to the Preventive System of Saint John Bosco.
  • Social dimension – It works on civic awareness and socio-political commitment, to train the “honest citizens”, proposed by the San Juan Bosco Preventive System.
  • Vocational dimension – Works on the contents and experiences that help to develop accompaniment processes and an openness to God’s plan for one’s life.
  • Dialogue strategy with the family – Presents suggestions to maintain a relationship between the ministry and the families of the recipients.
  • Experience strategy – Presents the tactics used for a practical experience of the contents.
  • Environment pedagogy strategy – It presents the characteristics that cannot be lacking in a Salesian educational environment.
  • Critical thinking strategy – It has the objective of leading the recipient to develop a critical attitude towards their reality.

Favoring the identification in the various stages of evolutionary development with the person of Jesus who accompanies him in his growth as a person. It promotes the appreciation of the capacities, abilities, talents of the itinerant and guides them to personal improvement, coexistence, solidarity, to be formed as a responsible and critical citizen, and to discover God’s project in their life.

A welcoming environment, a typically Salesian family environment, is essential, where parents, children, and educators interact together, where children, adolescents, and young people can experience how much is proposed to them in the contents of the cycles.
